Synopsis

Jake:
I can’t believe my coach assigned me a tutor. I’m all that on the field and between the sheets — who cares about my stupid grades?

But Claire doesn’t treat me like I’m dumb. When we’re not busy fighting, she actually encourages me. And with those sexy curves of hers, I know just how to thank her.

Claire:
I hate football players, but I need the money. Jake is just as cocky and arrogant as the worst of them … but his touch sets me on fire.

I have to believe he’s different, that he won’t use me and break my heart. Because I can’t stop wanting him. I just hope I survive the ride.

My Review

I was so excited when i started reading this novel and found out it was set in Michigan..I was even more excited when i read the college the novel is centered around is the University of Michigan…That is awesome because i’m a Michigan girl and we are a Wolverine’s household!

Enough with my excitement about College football teams.

Draw Play is about a popular Jock ‘Jake” and a nerdy girl “Claire”. Jake and Claire meet when Claire is assigned to be Jake’s tutor for her work study. Jake is embarrassed and tries to hide the fact that he is getting tutored.

I found the back and forth banter to be hilarious at times but then tedious at others. Sometimes during the novel i found it wasn’t needed but i guess it added to Claire’s insecurity issues. I found Claire to be really snobby at times towards Jake. I understand that was her defense mechanism for protecting herself after what happened to her in high school but at some portions of the novel i think it was a little to much for my liking.

I really enjoyed Jake’s Character though. Even though he was a playboy manwhore. but when he started to get to know Claire he did things differently out of fear of disappointing her. Also the little things he did that she didn’t know about like following her to make sure she got to her dorm safely, was really sweet and only added to the list of things i enjoyed about Jake. Not to mention how he helped her by gaining a little of her self confidence back (that is until a douche blew that theory all up by running his mouth).

Overall i can set aside the attitude problem i had when it comes to Claire and the insecurity issues. They weren’t major issues for me. Just little things.

If you enjoy reading about the low self esteem Nerd getting the Popular Jock i recommend Draw Play! Plus I mean who doesn’t love the Michigan Wolverines right?

Thank you for checking out my review
