Synopsis
I despise Erik Winter.
He’s arrogant and cruel—a man I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy—and by some twisted turn of fate, he’s my new Olympic gymnastics coach.
I’ve had to contend with gruff coaches in the past, but Erik is far worse. His stern demeanor complements a body built for intimidation, and his reprimands come from a mouth so cunning, I know it could strip me of my defenses—if I let it.
Though each of us would love to be rid of the other forever, we are bound to each other by need and necessity. I’m his rising star, his best shot at proving himself to his critics. And without a coach, I have zero chance of winning gold in Rio.
The easiest way forward would be to wave a white flag and make peace with the man I’ll be sharing close quarters with for the foreseeable future, but he is intent on war.
Fine. By. Me.
If he pushes me, I’ll push back harder. If he wants to test me, to play with my head, I’ll show him just how many boundaries I’m willing to cross. Because I know it’s not a choice between winning or warring—not if you can have them both. At the end of it all, I plan on leaving Rio with gold around my neck and his icy heart in the palm of my hand.
My Review:
5 STARS!!!
Release Date August 1st!!!
I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review
When i read that R.S. Grey’s newest novel in The Summer Games series Out Of Bounds was going to be about a gymnast and her coach i was so excited! I’ve watched the Olympics all my life and dreamed about being a gymnast when i was young but let’s face it I do NOT have the coordination and i’m the type of person to fall UP stairs so that was out of the question.
Out of Bounds is a novel that will have you on the edge of your seat either laughing or biting your nails due to all the sexual tension.
Brie Watson is the Cinderella of the Olympics. Having a mother that works endlessly so Brie can live her dream is the only motivation Brie needs to win gold when she gets to Reno. But there is one speed bump. The original coach that was supposed to train USA before they go to Reno has suddenly dropped out due to health issues leaving another coach up for the job. So instead of training in Texas Brie Watson hops on a plane and flies to Seattle.
Erik Winters is a hard ass coach that is used to getting respect from his trainees. Until he meets Brie.
Brie does everything she can possibly do to fight off the connection she feels with Erik but when you put the two in a room together the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Brie and Erik are constantly trying to get a rise out of each other. Brie pushes and Erik snaps! Erik pushes and Brie snaps!
I wouldn’t have it any other way the stubbornness of Brie and Erik makes Out of Bounds that much more amazing!!!
This novel unlike the first Summer Games novel has a darker vibe to it. Erik’s attitude mostly brings the darkness to the front but when you find out the reason’s Erik is the way he is and why he has a chip on his shoulder and an attitude that at sometimes makes him a jerk you will completely understand! All the better reason to love Erik.
Whilst reading i couldn’t help but think of what my granny used to say. She used to always tell me to fight my battles and choose my wars! hmm maybe Brie and Erik could have used a dose of my Granny’s advice!
R.S. Grey was able to shed light through the darkness by adding humorous scenes and hilarious secondary characters. I loved Lexi, Molly, and Rosie who are part of Team USA and the girls that Brie is training with. Lexi was a sexual devil, i swear that’s all the girl thought about. Molly was the confidante and roommate of Brie’s. And Rosie was the shy virgin. This made for some hilarious times!
While reading Out of Bounds i came to a couple conclusions…
Number One: Brie is the queen of all c#ck blockers! The scene at the 26% mark in Out of Bounds had me laughing so hard my ribs ached!!!
and
Number Two: i will never think of yoga the same way ever again!!!
I loved Brie’s feisty fiery attitude and her ability to stand up to Erik and not back down. Even during the times he was breaking her heart.
When i first started reading Out of Bounds and Brie and Erik first met, i was expecting the novel to have a rushed feel because let’s face it in romance novels these days the beginning is slow and drawn out but then when the couple meets it’s BAM i’m never leaving my bed again and your staying with me type of stuff. But Out of Bounds fooled me. thanks to the stubborn attitudes of Brie and Erik the connection between the two was drawn out, the sexual tension grew thick, and even though the two were constantly fighting like cats and dogs i could feel there relationship grow and strengthen throughout the novel. That led up to some holy freaking hotness sexy time scenes!!!!
This is solely based on my opinion so if you don’t agree no hard feelings but i feel Out of Bounds is the new benchmark for sports themed romance novels! This novel was that good! I highly recommend you read Out of Bounds! Thank you R.S. Grey for writing another amazing novel!!!

Peace Love and Happy Reading,
